My Blurb: Demon’s Bride
The witches and the demons have a bargain. A witch is sent to the demon world as a bride, and her magic helps keep the realms stable. But the demon realm hasn’t been stable for centuries.
When the last witch to crossover is sent back sick and drained of magic, the coven knows something is wrong. However, another witch must take her place.
And when the Demon King crosses the realm and selects Allison Hawthorne. No one could be more surprised than Allie herself. Typically, one of the strongest in the coven is selected by the Goddess, but Allie barely has any magic at all.
When Eren sees Allie, he knows she’s the one for him. She’s his bride… and his mate. But her lack of magic is a concern when he needs to save his realm. Together though, can they figure out how to fix the bargain and save the realms?
My Thoughts on Demon’s Bride
I didn’t love this book, but I was determined to finish it. And I did, so I could give you a review!
The book has a decent storyline – like I wanted to know what made the last witch sick, and I wanted to see them fix the realm and save the day!
I liked that Allie was smart. It was obvious that her book magic (while seemingly useless in the mortal world) would be helpful in finding information in books that could help save the realm.
Eren was an actual demon with devilish features like horns, wings, and a tail. So that was a twist as most books seem to give demons human characteristics. He was classically possessive but also thoughtful.
Because of the bargain and the mates’ situation, it was a classic situation of very little romance before getting to the deed – instalove. I actually just liked the plot and didn’t care very much about their relationship. This book has a lot of smut, but the kind you just want to skim and move on, in my opinion. Sad.
Overall, I just felt like the book was too long, even though it’s only 347 pages. It just kind of dragged on, and I felt myself losing interest and wanting to skip ahead to the resolution. I will not be continuing the series if a new one releases. Sorry to say.
