“And my hearts beat for you.”
Morana vitalio
After giving Tristan ‘The Predator’ Caine a chance to either kill her or move forward with her, and her dad’s utter betrayal, Morana Vitalio goes to enemy territory with Tristan. Her former enemy is now her protector and ally. But the Tenebrae Outfit isn’t so happy to have her, even if they act like good hosts, and someone is still out to hurt Morana.
Tristan may have decided to keep Morana and break his vow of revenge, but her life is still his. Perhaps just in a different way. Now, Tristan must protect Morana from both her family and his own.
The codes are still out there and looming over Morana’s head. But an anonymous internet vigilante is helping her and sending her hints. Who is The Reaper, and how do they know so much? On top of all of that, Morana, Tristan, and Dante are still working together to figure out why The Syndicate ended, and what happened to the missing girls.
“His demons dance with mine.”

My Thoughts on The Reaper
One of the rare occurrences where I gave a sequel book a higher rating than the first book in the series!!
There was so much action in this book – it was fast-paced, but not rushed. Also, expect plot twists that you’ll love and hate and totally not expect. It was a wild ride. I loved it and really enjoy the mystery aspect of this series so far.
In The Reaper, I think we see the actual love story for Morana and Tristan. The Predator was honestly just creating the setting and back story. He was incredibly closed off in The Predator, but in this book, he starts opening up, and we see more development and vulnerability in their relationship. It was so sweet! Don’t get it twisted though, he can still be quiet, but actions speak louder than words.
“If you burned as I burn with the need to claim you. That I wasn’t alone in the fire.”
Tristan Caine
Morana continued to be funny, smart, loveable, and sometimes annoying. She takes care of herself and gets the information she wants. And Tristan is just so swoon. I love the “everyone is afraid of him and respects him” trope. He had some moments standing up for Morana that will have you literally cheering and swooning in a messed-up way.
Just like in the first book, I loved Dante and Amara’s characters – although Amara is less in this book. But Dante plays a big role in this book since we’re in his territory now and seeing his family and Dad. Can’t wait to pick up Dante and Amara’s book next after a little Dark Verse break.
