This story centers on sworn-enemy neighbors, Sebastian (also referred to as Bash, lovingly referred to as Bash-hole and Demon Douche) and Valentina (Vee). The duo are both vlogging stars on MyView, which is basically a mix of TikTok and YouTube. Sebastian and Vee rose to internet stardom on the social media platform when they started a pranking war on each other.
They used to be close, but it seems like Vee went too far (Sorry boys, but we love a girl that wins!). These days, we mostly see them stealing coveted items from each other to be annoying. So we don’t know exactly what happened, but both of their views and sponsorships are tanking now that they aren’t bothering (flirting with) each other with pranks.
There’s a MyView competition with a $1 million prize for whomever can get the most views. Apart, Sebastian and Vee don’t have a shot. Together, they just might… And Sebastian wants to make a deal – a truce… and fake date for 2 months so they can win and beat their cheating internet rival, Malcom.
A really cool aspect of this book is that at the beginning of each chapter, we get a snippet of future interviews they do together for the competition. It gives us some back story on how the prank war started and makes us excited to see where the book goes. But it also adds more questions, because it can be a bit difficult to tell what the timeline is of the interviews in comparison to the real-time chapters.
In terms of their big prank secret, I feel like Sebastian explains it best when he says…
This is what Kristy Marie does to me!! I need to know what went down between the two of them that ended the prank war and their friendship! And damn, did I have to keep reading to figure it out, but absolutely worth it!
My only other small con from this book was that there are a lot of characters that are name-dropped in this book from other books by Kristy Marie. Since I haven’t read all of her books, it was a bit of character overload. But I loved seeing Maverick and Ainsley from IOU (absolute 5 star read for me). And now, obviously, I want a book for Aspen and Bennett like yesterday!! Projected #1 NFL draft pick quarterback? Yes, please and thank you.
Overall, the book is hilarious, a little over-the-top, but honestly, I feel like that’s expected from these MyView stars. Just wait for the binoculars to come out. There’s playful banter and quintessential hate-that-I-love-you actions and reactions. They make snarky, snide comments to each other, know exactly how to push each other’s buttons, and under it all, there are some swoon-worthy, heartwarming, make you say, “Aww” moments that’ll have you rooting for them to work things out.
p.s. there’s a 10/10 epilogue…
p.p.s. Special thanks to Kristy Marie and WordSmith Publicity for the ARC! I received a free copy to review– all opinions are my own!

I can explain.
Kind of.
I realize the wig and makeup don’t help my case, but that’s not the point.
The point is, Sebastian came at me first.
He’s the one who started this war, but I’m the one who finished it.
I’m not even sorry about it.
Fine. Maybe I am. A little.
That’s the only explanation as to why I just agreed to play his fake girlfriend so he—we—can win a million dollars in the hottest reality show contest ever filmed on campus.
Don’t get it wrong though, Sebastian and I may look like we love each other, but everyone knows reality TV is nothing but scripted lies and staged kisses.
